Our Policy

  • The personal information; your name, company, function, e-mail address, postal address, telephone number, details pertaining to your company and etc. as far as only our business concerns, that we obtained shall be used only for the purposes mentioned below.
  • We have appointed the person in charge of personal information protection and manage personal information handled according to internal rules and regulation regarding personal information handling. To secure personal information from hacking, lost, destroyed, falsification, leakage and any other actions which may endanger protection of personal information, we shall take necessary security measures properly.
  • We will never disclose personal information to other third parties unless there is consent to disclose beforehand and not in the case the disclosure would be allowed according to related lows. However we may provide personal information to outsourcers or share it with Yamato group companies when it would be necessary to conduct obligatory business operation within the purposes of use.
  • We will secure the personal information provided by consignors under strict management and use within the purposes.

We hereby inform you about the processing of your personal data by us and the claims and rights to which you are entitled under the data protection regulations.   • Which sources and which data do we use?
    We process personal data that we receive from you as part of our business relationship. In addition, we process - as far as necessary for the provision of our service - personal data that we have legitimately received from our cooperation partners (for example, to execute orders, to fulfill contracts or on the basis of your consent). Furthermore, we process personal data that we have legitimately gained and are able to process from publicly available sources (for example, directories, press, media). Relevant personal data are name, company e-mail and telephone number.
  • To which end do we process your data (purpose of processing), and on what legal basis?
    We process personal data in accordance with Personal Information Protection Act in Japan and required by GDPR as data importer.
    Our purpose of processing your data is 1) to provide you information about our products, our services and opportunities like trade shows/exhibitions where you can experience those directly, 2) to make necessary correspondences within related parties in order to fulfil obligations resulted from your inquiries and agreements/ contracts, if any.
    • For the fulfillment of contractual obligations
      The processing of personal data takes place for business initiation and the execution of orders as well as for all activities necessary for the administration, operation and maintenance of equipment.
    • In the context of the balance of interests
      If necessary, we process your data beyond the actual fulfillment of the contract for the protection of legitimate interests of ours or of third parties.

    • On the basis of your consent

  • Who receives my data?
    Your data will be received by those entities within the Yamato Scale Group that need it to fulfill our contractual and legal obligations. Our contractors can also receive data for these purposes, which engaged in Logistics, Printing Services and Consulting as well as Sales and Marketing.
    Other data recipients may be the ones for whom you have given us your consent to submit the data.
  • How long will my data be stored?
    If necessary, we process and store your personal data for the duration of our business relationship, which includes, for example, the initiation and execution of a contract. It should be noted that our business relationship is a permanent readiness for the maintenance of machinery and equipment; it is thus a long-term relationship implied to last for years.

    Any data subject has the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to erasure, the right to restriction of processing and the right to data portability. The restrictions according to Personal Information Protection Act in Japan apply to the right to information and the right to erasure.
  • Is there an obligation for me to provide data?
    As part of our business relationship, you only have to provide those personal data which are necessary for the execution and termination of a business relationship or which we are legally obliged to collect.

Information about your right to object

  • Right to object in individual cases
    You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data.
  • The right to object to the processing of data for direct marketing purposes
    In individual cases we will process your data for direct marketing purposes. You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for the purpose of such advertising.
